Image dimensions vs. file size
Dimensions describe how many pixels an image contains, such as 600 × 600 px. File size describes how much storage it uses, measured in KB or MB. Two images with identical dimensions can have very different file sizes depending on their content, format and compression.
What is image aspect ratio?
The aspect ratio is the proportional relationship between width and height. For example, 600 × 600 is 1:1 (square), while 1200 × 800 is 3:2 (landscape). Maintaining the ratio when resizing prevents stretching.
Can this tool tell me whether a photo meets application requirements?
The checker reports image properties, but it does not validate background, face position, DPI metadata, image authenticity or acceptance by a specific application portal. Compare the reported values with the portal's official instructions.
